This strawberry matcha latte is a lovely way to add texture and fruity flavour to spice up your daily matcha routine. The chunky strawberry puree adds sweetness and strawberry goodness with every sip. The oaty flavour from the oak milk compliments the matcha nicely and makes for a great vegan drink!
What you will need
- a tall glass
- large bubble tea straw
- whisk
- 1/4 cup ripe strawberries
- 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 tsp of ceremonial matcha
- 3.5 oz of filtered hot water boiled at 190 degrees F
- 1/4 cup of oat milk
How to make your strawberry matcha latte
PREP YOUR INGREDIENTS
- Boil 3.5 oz of filtered water at 190 degrees F and combine 3 oz with 1 tsp of ceremonial matcha in a separate bowl or cup
- Swiftly whisk the matcha until you have a frothy thin layer of green bubbles
- Combine the other 0.5 oz of hot water with 1 tsp of brown sugar (optional) — Note: you can skip adding brown sugar to your strawberry puree. A lot of times very ripe strawberries are sweet enough so we don’t add sugar at all! —
- Add the brown sugar syrup to 1/4 cup of ripe strawberries (optional) — Note: skip this step if you’re making this drink with no added sugar. —
- Mash the strawberries together until slightly pureed but still chunky
MAKE THE DRINK
- Add your chunky pureed strawberries into your glass
- Add 1 cup of ice
- Give your matcha another whisk and pour it over the ice
- Add 1/4 cup of oat milk
- Top it up with a couple of whole strawberries cut in halves (just for decoration)
- Mix it all up and enjoy!
